Again I’ve been inspired by the beauty all around. Here’s a poem I wrote about the desert spring. I witnessed this masquerade two years in a row while working at Taliesin West for the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. Hope you enjoy!
Desert Spring The desert seems a desolate place,But know this isn’t so,
As spring arrives,
It comes alive,
And shows a different face. Of color, texture and sweet, sweet smell,
Birds warble and flit about,
The barren sings,
Rejoicing rings,
From nature’s steeple bell. The land’s most guarded soften up,
As blooms are born of spines,
Short masquerade,
Then colors fade,
See now and fill your cup. By Kevin Earl
